Fourth of July Noisemaker Craft Project

Instructions | |||
1. | Print the template onto cardstock. Cut out stars. (Decorating the stars is fine - printing and decorating an extra sheet of stars to decorate the plate is great, too!)
2. | Draw.or color on the outside (bottom) of both plates for the 4th of July.
3. | Use the sticks to form a cross on the decorated side of one plate. Make a small pencil mark where each of the sticks meets the edge of the plate (4 in all).
4. | Place a dozen or more beans or small beads on the inside (top) of the plate that doesn't have the pencil marks.
5. | Place a line of glue around the top edge of that plate.
6. | Carefully align and then press the two plates together, decorated sides out. Let the glue dry.
7. | Place a ribbon on each pencil mark with about half of the ribbon extended beyond the plate. Staple the ribbon to both plates (this will also make sure the plates stick together)
8. | Fold the ribbon over. Glue a star to the top of the folded ribbon and the plate to hold it in place.
You can also decorate the plates with stickers or shapes cut from construction paper. Don't use beads or other decorations that might fall off when the noisemaker is shaken. |
