Liturgical Colors Craft Project
Churches are often decorated with banners. Their colors help explain the meaning of the time in the church year..
The ELCA outlines what colors should be used and what they mean. Find out about them by clicking here.
Use your imagination to make a banner for one or more of the seasons/special days in the church year.
Most Sundays in October are green, but the color for Reformation Day (October 31)/Reformation Sunday is red.

Instructions | |||
1. | Select the season/day for your banner. Leave at least 1" at the top of your banner blank as you decorate.
2. | After you've finished decorating your banner, place a thin line of glue at the top of the back of your banner. .
3. | Fold the top of your banner around the dowel/straw. Use a book or other weight to hold in place while the glue dries.
3. | Use ribbon, a long pipe cleaner or raffia to create a hanger by tying or gluing each end to an end of the dowel.
-- Ironing the 'crease' into your banner prior to gluing may make it easier
-- The example shown here is a banner for Reformation Sunday. The Luther Rose is an iron-on transfer (the image
