                   plus

  • craft scissors
  • regular scissors
  • paint brush
  • iron and ironing board
  • iron-on seam tape
  • pins
  • glue
  • color crayons or pencils
  • black magic marker
  • slightly damp rag (to wipe away any excess glue)
  • Yarn

Instructions
 1.  Print pattern on cardstock.
 2.   Use craft scissors to cut out a square containing the title and Bible reference.
 3.

Cut out the  flower pieces (circle, stem, and 6 petals).

 4.  Paint the circle yellow and let dry.
 5.  Paint the six petals of the flower and let dry.

6.

Paint the flower stalk and leaf green and let it dry.

 7.  Fold a 1/4" seam at the top of the green felt/cloth and iron.
 8.  Place dowel or the bar of a clothes hanger inside the fold and pin iron-on seam tape into place to close the seam. Iron, then remove pins.
 9.  Color the words in the title.
 10.  Place the title square at the top of the felt/cloth and glue into place.
 11.  Write something you are thankful for on each petal with black magic marker.
Some suggestions are: Bible, food, Jesus, church, clothing, friends, family, school, teachers, pets, sunshine, Sunday School.

 12.  Paint small black dots in the circle (you can also use black magic marker).
 13.  Arrange the petals evenly around the center circle and glue onto its backside.   Place the stem and leaf into place (thin side of stem down) and glue to back of center circle, too.
 14.   Place a line of glue from the inside point to about halfway up each petal.  Place a thin line of glue about 3/4 of the way down the stem.
 15.   Carefully glue into place on the felt.  The stem can extend past the bottom edge of the felt.
 16.  Tie each end of a piece of yard around each end of the dowel for hanging.

Variation:  Glue a yellow pom-pom to the center circle (shown in picture above)
