Instructions | |||
1. | Clean the inside of your carton thoroughly.
2. | Use a variety of crayons to scribble on the coffee filters. Be sure to cover the whole filter.
3. | Spritz the filter with a little water so the colors run together.
4. | Set aside to dry. (You will cut 'stained glass windows' from the filter later.)
5. | Paint the carton and set aside to dry.
If needed use a hair dryer set on low to make the paint dry faster on the filter and/or the carton.
7. | Use a ruler to measure how long and wide the windows, doors, and shingles should be, based on the size of your carton.
8. | Cut windows from the coffee filter.
9. | Multiply the desired width of your door by 3 and cut a rectangle. Fold each end of the rectangle in to make the two doors and draw handles on each door.
10. | Glue the back of the door to the carton.
10. | After cutting two more rectangles for roof shingles, cut a scalloped edge (picture above) on one long edge.
11. | Use a glue stick to stick windows and shingles in place. The open end of the carton should be at the back of the church.
12. | Cut about 1/3 of a pipe cleaner and twist it horizontally onto the remaining pipe cleaner to make the cross for the top of the church.
13. | Use tape (either regular or doublestick) to fix the cross in place at the top of the church. |
