`'Cain and Abel' Craft Project

Cain and Abel

`


 

WHAT YOU NEED

  • 8" X 10" white cardstock

  • 1 empty toilet paper roll (Cain)

  • 1 empty paper towel roll cut to 7" length (Abel)

  • Pattern

  • two 9" lengths of narrow ribbon, string, or shoestring

  • For Abel: two pieces of fabric - 5 1/2" by 6" and 7" by 4"

  • one black pipe cleaner

  • one rubber band - optional 9" length of string, shoestring or narrow ribbon

  • For Cain: one piece of fabric - 5 1/2" by 6"

  •

  • markers or crayons
  • scissor
  • glue stick
  •  tape (regular or double-stick)

 

  
 

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS

 
Print pattern.  Color and cut out pieces. 
ABELCAIN 
1.Position Abel's face at top of trimmed paper towel roll. Tape in place at shoulders.  1. Tape Cain's 'shoulders' to the top of the toilet paper tube.
2. Spread glue on the back of fabric and glue into place around tube.
3. Glue or tape fruit basket into Cain's hands.
4. Tie one length of ribbon, string, or shoestring around Cain's 'waist' as a belt
5. Glue Cain's arms and feet into place.
 
2.Use glue stick to spread glue on the back of 5 1/2" by 6" piece of fabric.  Glue into place. 
3.Fold 4" X 7" fabric in half (long way) and cut half-circle. 
4. Place the straight edge across the top of tube and hold in place with a rubber band. If desired, tie a length of ribbon, string, or shoestring to cover the rubber band. 
5.Shape black pipe cleaner into a shepherd's hook.  Fold left hand around the hook and tape or glue into place. 
6. Tape or glue the left hand over the sheep's ear with thumb behind the sheep. 
7.Tie one length of ribbon, string, or shoestring around Abel's 'waist' as a belt. 
8.Glue or tape arms into place. 
   
 Variations: Use pipe cleaner for the belts
               Use two paper towel rolls cut to 7" and two 7" by 4" fabric pieces to create headdresses for both Abel and Cain. (Instructions 3 & 4 under Abel)
