The Sixth Commandment and Family

The sixth commandment says that when they get married, grown-ups make a commitment to treat their spouses with respect, and to be honest and faithful to each other.  When people get married, they create a family.  Most of the time, spouses become parents, too. Parents show us how to treat each other, and it is important for the whole family that parents trust each other and share both the good and bad things that happen. It is important for families to try to work through their differences together, and not try to run away from problems and difficulties.
In May we celebrate Mother's Day, and are thankful for all the big and little things our mothers do for us.  In June, we honor fathers and the things they do for us on Father's Day,
