STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
| 1. Color the wreath pattern or trace it onto cardstock or the backside of fabric. Cut the wreath out, being careful to cut out the center of the wreath. 2. Use the pattern to cut a slightly smaller wreath out of cardboard to use as backing. Do NOT cut out the center of the cardboard wreath. 3. Select a Christmas card and position it on the cardboard so it fills the center of your wreath. Use a small dab of glue or double-stick tape to hold it in place. 4. Glue or tape the wreath to the cardboard backing. 5. Print the candle pattern. The candles can be colored or printed on pink and purple construction paper. One pink and three purple candles are required. 6. Print the flame pattern. The flames can be colored or printed on yellow construction paper. 4 flames are required. 7. Cut out a "candle flames" rectangle and tape it to the back of the cardboard to create a pocket. (Tape on the bottom and sides but not the top!). Use the pocket to store the flames until it is time to "light" another candle on the Advent wreath. 8. Hang with a pin. Variation: Instead of using pictures from Christmas cards, use a picture of the child or his/her family. | |
