Veteran's Day

Veteran's Day is not a religious holiday, but when we think about the safety of the soldiers and sailors we love, and the commitment of all those who defend us, it touches our souls in a deep and personal way.  Those who defend our country deserve our respect and need our prayers every day.

Holy Bible

 John 15:13

13  Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.

A Prayer for Veteran's Day

Our Father in Heaven,

We remember the generations of veterans who have served our country, and we honor their service and their memory. We ask for Your blessings on all those who have served in the armed forces, and Your protection for those serving now around the world.

We pray for healing for those who have been wounded, in body or soul, and especially for the young men and women who are coming home from Iraq and Afghanistan. Give them peace and strength and the courage to overcome any harm that their service in our names has caused them. Comfort the families and friends of those who have lost their lives and will never return.

Hear our prayers for those who cannot pray. Hold in your merciful hands those who will not pray.

Help us in our daily lives to work toward a peaceful world.

In Jesus Name,

Amen.
