Jesus Appears to His Disciples

Jesus died  and was quickly put in a tomb before sunset on Good Friday.  According to Jewish customs, no work could be done on the Sabbath, which begins at sunset on Friday. So it was not until Sunday morning that Mary Magdalene went to Jesus' tomb to finish properly preparing his body.
When she arrived at the tomb, Mary found the stone rolled away from the entrance and the tomb itself empty. At first she mistook the risen Jesus for a gardener, but once she recognized him she ran back to share the news of the resurrection with the disciples. Peter and "the beloved disciple" ran to the tomb and found it empty, but they did not see Jesus.
After Jesus' crucifixion, the disciples were all concerned that they might be arrested too.  They were gathered in a locked room on that Sunday night.  They were no doubt talking about the empty tomb and Mary Magdalene's encounter with the risen Jesus.
Suddenly Jesus appeared among them and said "Peace by with you."  Jesus showed them the marks where he had been nailed to the cross and all of the disciples realized Jesus was again in their midst!
Thomas wasn't with the rest of the disciples when Jesus visited them, and he said he wouldn't believe the resurrection was true until he saw Jesus for himself and touched his wounds.  The next Sunday night, the disciples were again gathered in a locked room.  This time Thomas was there, and he was able to talk to Jesus and see and touch his wounds.  Having seen Jesus for himself, Thomas believed!  Jesus was glad to have shown Thomas the truth of his resurrection, but He also said that those who do not see but believe anyway are truly blessed.
The Bible says that Jesus visited his disciples many times before He ascended into heaven.
