The Ten Commandments and the Golden Rule
 | During the school year, we studied each of the Ten Commandments. According to Exodus, the commandments were delivered by God to Moses on Mt. Sinai and were intended to keep order in Jewish society as they wandered in the desert and after they settled in Israel. They are good rules for all of us to follow every day. When Jesus came to earth, he was asked about the commandments. Jesus said the two most important were to love God and to love your neighbor. In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus gives us what we now call the Golden Rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." If you follow Jesus' simple advice, you won't have any problem following the 10 commandments! |
