Blind Men's Elephant Craft Project
This funny-looking elephant will remind you that even when you think you know the whole story,
you really might have just a part of it. It is important not to jump to conclusions like the blind men did. Listen carefully to what
other people think, even if you disagree with them. Together you may just get a clearer picture of the whole elephant!

- Scissors
- Glue
- Marker

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
1. Print the elephant pattern on cardstock and cut it out. 2. Glue the body pattern in place to create the elephant's "brick" body, or use it as a pattern to cut the body from contact paper, plastic bricks, etc. You can also glue very small pebbles or sand to the body to create the feeling of a brick/stone wall. 3. If desired, glue craft eyes into place or color the eyes. Give the elephant a nice pink tongue! 4. Poke a small hole through the lower body of the elephant. Push the piece of twine through the hole. Make a small knot in the front end of the twine....the knot will be the elephant's belly button! Fray the tail end of the twine to make it look more like a tail. 5. Use a hole punch or scissor to create the hole for the trunk on the elephant's face. Use a black marker to draw the snake's eyes and mouth on the end of a small balloon. Blow just a little air into the balloon and poke it through the hole, twisting/tying it closed on the backside of the elephant. 6. Cut two ears out of colored paper using the ear pattern. Fold each one into a fan. Glue the top edge of each fan to the front of the ear "wing." Tuck the bottom of the ears behind the elephant's cheeks, but do not glue. 7. Poke a toothpick/stirrer/appetizer stick through the line on each cheek. Tape the "tusks" into place on the backside of the elephant. 8. Glue woodchips or pieces of bark onto the elephant's "arms" and legs. |
