- Craft scraps
- Masking tape (for the game)

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
STONES 1. Select 5 small smooth stones and 1 larger stone. Wash them and let them dry thoroughly. 2. Paint each stone. While the paint dries, wash out the paintbrushes and then make the bag (instructions below). 3. Put one letter of David's name on each small stone (D A V I D) with a black marker. 4. Put the letter "G" on the larger stone (G-oliath). BAG 1. Print the pictures of David and Goliath on your computer (links above), or draw/color your own. 2. Glue a picture of David to one side of the bag. 3. Glue a picture of Goliath to the other side of the bag. 4. Use craft scraps to decorate the rest of the bag. 5. Cut a length of string twice the width of the bag. If beads are available, make a knot at one end of the string, slide a few beads on the string and tie a knot at the other end of the string. Place the stones in the bag and tie it shut with your string.

GAME 1. Use masking tape to mark a 1 foot by 1 foot square on a floor (wood or tile works best) or sidewalk. 2. Place a small "X" in the middle of the square with the masking tape. 3. Place a Goliath stone (marked with a 'G') on the X. 4. Players take turns trying to knock the Goliath stone from the X with one of their David stones. Players must slide their stones from outside the square. Players earn 1 point for each David stone that moves Goliath. 5. The player with the best score after each has played all 5 stones is the winner. Variations: Players earn 5 points if they knock Goliath off the "X" with the first stone, 4 points for the second stone, etc. Each player slides all 5 David stones in each of 5 turns.
