Gustav Adolf Larsen, ordained 1883.  Associated with the Norwegian Synod from 1883-1887; Anti-Missouri 1887-1890; United (Norwegian Lutheran) Church, 1890 - present.

Born at Koshkonong WI on Feb 19, 1859.  His parents were Peder L. Svartskur and Gro Thoreson (nee Nore).

He studied at Augsburg Luther College from 1874-1880, Luther Seminary, 1880-1883.

He served as a pastor in Sheldon SD, 1883-1887; Ada MN, 1887-1897; Moorhead MN, 1897-1903; Northfield MN, 1903-1906; Clinton (Jefferson Prairie) WI 1906-1912; Seattle WA, 1912-14.

Professor of religion, St Olaf College, 1903-1906; Missions board, 1900-1905; Secretary of the missions board, 1902-1904; Ordinations Board, 1905-1907; Visitation, 1895-1896; Assistant Superintendent of Missions, 1912-1914; Superintendent of Missions, 1914-current; Finance Board, 1910-1912.

He married Betsey T. Holtan in 1883.
